چکیده

A simple model is presented, which interpolates between the DGLAP and BFKL regimes in deep inelastic ep scattering. The model is based on the CCFM and LDC models, and it is simple enough to provide an intuitive picture of the transition region between the two domains. Results are presented for both fixed and running coupling; for fixed coupling the transition between the domains occurs at a constant ratio between ln k ⊥ and ln 1/x, while for a running coupling it occurs for constant ratio between ln ln k ⊥ and ln 1/x. A unified BFKL/DGLAP description of Deep Inelastic Scattering

We introduce a coupled pair of evolution equations for the unintegrated gluon distribution and the sea quark distribution which incorporate both the resummed leading ln(1/x) BFKL contributions and the resummed leading ln(Q) DGLAP contributions. We solve these unified equations in the perturbative QCD domain. With only two physically motivated parameters we obtain an excellent description of the...

Resolved Photons and Bfkl-type Signatures in Deep Inelastic Scattering

The concept of resolved virtual photons in addition to direct deep inelastic ep scattering is used to simulate the 2 + 1 jet-rate and the forward jet cross section, which cannot be described by direct LO/NLO processes. With standard DGLAP evolution of the parton densities of the virtual photon and the proton the HERA data can be described, provided a sufficiently large scale for the hard scatte...

SMALL-z PHYSICS

-237After a brief review of the kinematics of deep inelastic lepton-proton scattering, the parton model is described. Small-z behavior coming from DGLAP evolution and from BFKL evolution is discussed, and the two types of evolution are contrasted and compared. Then a more detailed discussion of BFKL dynamics is given. The phenomenology of small-z physics is discussed with an emphasis on ways in...

A NEW METHOD TO PROBE THE LOW x PARTON DYNAMICS AT HERA

Hadron transverse momentum spectra are proposed as a means to probe the underlying partonic dynamics in deep inelastic scattering. The BFKL evolution equation, postulated for small Bjorken-x, leads to an enhanced parton emission over the conventional DGLAP ansatz, and can thus be tested.

Transverse Energy and Forward Jet Production in the Low x Regime at HERA

The production of transverse energy in deep inelastic scattering is measured as a function of the kinematic variables x and Q using the H1 detector at the ep collider HERA. The results are compared to the different predictions based upon two alternative QCD evolution equations, namely the Dokshitzer-Gribov-Lipatov-AltarelliParisi (DGLAP) and the Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) equations. I...
